Awana
is a kids’ ministry that assists Eastview in reaching children with
the Gospel of Jesus Christ and helping them to know and serve Him. The
heartbeat of Awana is teaching children that God is real, He loves them,
and he expressed that love through His Son, Jesus Christ. From Pre-School
to 6th Grade, children experience fun and learning as they grow in their
personal knowledge and understanding of God’s Word.
Awana meets Sunday evenings from 6:00 PM
– 7:30 PM (during the school year) for a 90-minute club session
that features three main segments: Game Time, Handbook Time, and Council
Time. During Game Time, boys and girls play a variety of active and fun
games. In Handbook Time, children work through age-appropriate handbooks
memorizing and understanding key Bible verses. They earn awards based
on their handbook achievements, attendance, and participation in Awana.
The final segment, Council Time, consists of singing, Bible stories, and
lessons based on Christian principles.
Awana consists of three Clubs, determined
by age:
- Puggles (ages 2 and 3 years)
- Cubbies (Pre-K, ages 3-5)
- Sparks (Kindergarten – 2nd Grade)
- Truth & Training (3rd – 6th Grade)
Please contact Pastor Ron McGrew, (618)
234-9255, or our Awana Commander, Diana Little, (618) 213-7017 for additional
information.
